The shortest day of the year here in the Southern Himisphere has just passed so its heading back to summer for us. Unfortunately we are facing a 50 knots wind over extremeley high spring tide tonight and tomorrow. Better recheck all those mooring lines again this afternoon.
On saturday the FBYC held the end of season cruise. Basically it consists of all interested members sailing (mostly when the wind was available) past the commodore and in some cases pelting him with water in any form followed by an interboat water fight. Great fun for the kids and the young at heart adullts too. After the cruise it was straight back to the club to watch the first test of the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa. The boks were dominent in the first half and also a lot of questionable decisions by the ref gave the boks a clear lead at the end of the first half. The Lions came roaring back in the second half and the end result was a close call. The boks held on to the victory but only just. I suspect the next test at altitude in Pretoria this weekend may be a different thing entirely.
