I first learned of WESTSAIL boats,when,i first arrived in 1976.At the time i was a silly19 year old student at FIT,in Jensen Beach Fla.I wa s freshly arrived from Buenos Aires ,Argentina.I started sailing in the Indian River, on my first boat a 16 foot Mercury.After all these years and many battle scars from life,i purchased GYPSY.This occured in 2006.Since purchase,she has undergone an extensive refit.It included re-fastening and sanding teak decks.New 12v, wiring and panel.New standing and running rigging,including lifelines.The cabin had issues of crazing,so epoxy was applied, then painted, and areas where,non skid was crazes, expoxy was applied .The final step was to use non -skid pads where the old molded non -skid was.Bronze portholes were removed and re-bedded.The interior work consisted,of removing the headliner, and replacing it with wood slats,in the style of BCC cutters.The work has been done with quality and craftsmanship by Robert Eger, and his staff up in Maine (WARREN POND Boatworks in South Berwick,Me,I would highly recommend this shop for anybody looking for a true craftsman.I purchased GYPSY from,David Butler of York ,ME, a fellow firefighter, thanks for all your help!Not sure if he is an engine or ladderman!.Getting to this point has been a hard labor of love, but,i thank the people that have been involved in this journey,

Attention all hands, just becoming familiar with this blogging experience, Gypsy will be launched in late spring,and will spend some time doing sea trials after an extensive three year refit.Will be sailing and cruising local waters.One hand for yourself and one for the ship,
