Mahi!

The only good thing about motoring is that we move along at a perfect fishing speed --- 7-8 knots. Rick reeled in a beautiful bull mahi--mahi yesterday, flashing blue and green against the surface. It's always painful to watch a mahi lose color as the booze we dribble into his gills suffocates him. On the other hand, I made some cevicchi (poison cru) this morning.... onion, green pepper, carrot, coconut flakes, a bit of cilantro, lemon and lime juice. It will "cook" until tomorrow in the fridge and then make a very special lunch. Three other two-person meals are tucked away in the freezer. We won't fish any more this trip, as we have more than enough food to get us home.
Looks like we will be able to go straight into Hampton without a stop in Beaufort to wait out the next weather front. Equinox, friends from the Rockland Yacht Club, are about a day ahead of us. They have picked up wind and started sailing, so we hope we'll be sailing soon as well. That would give us an ETA in Hampton of late Saturday or early Sunday.
