Pictures Recovered! Check the photo gallery!
The last week has been a blur for us - we left Palermo, Sicily last Wednesday and yesterday morning (Wednesday) we arrived and anchored in Mahon on the island of Minorca. Between those 2 Wednesdays we traveled 518 nautical miles, went without much sleep for 4 nights, and still managed to spend a few interesting days and nights in the harbor of Tabarka, Tunisia on the North coast of Africa.
Why, you're wondering, do we say it never happened? Like all citizens of the 21st century, we carry our memories in digital format. The saying "been there, done that" for us should actually read "been there, done that, took a picture of it".
Imagine our shock and sense of loss when we plugged in our Sony camera to download a week's worth of photos only to be greeted with the message "Memory stick empty". After much fussing and fiddling with memory sticks and computers we have resolved ourselves to the fact that we have no actual proof that we visited Tunisia over the weekend. OK, there's some stamps in our passports and a few official documents in arabic but there are
NO PHOTOS!
Given our confused state of mind from long hours at sea and a lack of sleep over the last week we are a little concerned that maybe we did not actually go there at all. After all, if it's not in the camera how can we know it really happened.
For the next few days we'll try to get ourselves "digitally grounded" again. We'll take lots of photos of us doing silly things in this new location so we can feel secure about where we are and where we've been.
We did manage to save the photos from Palermo, they are in our Italy collection in "Our Photos".
