We spent 5 days on the island of La Palma and in spite of a LOT of rain we had a wonderful visit.
A bit of trivia - La Palma, which rises to 8000 feet at its center, has the higest average altitude of any island in the world. We drove almost every road on this island over a two day period and we could tell by all of the switch backs and our popping ears that we were going up and down some pretty tall mountains.
The small marina where we are staying is on the less populated west coast in a tiny town called Tazacorte. The beach front has a few hotels, restaurants and shops, just enough to make it attractive and welcoming without going overboard.
We've posted new pictures and below is a movie we made of our 2 day trip around the island - Enjoy!

About:
Mostly full time cruising since 1998, we've traveled over 60,000 sea miles and are still looking for the perfect anchorage...
Extra:
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
