We are in Oriental

30 September 2010 | Oriental NC
Lester
Ok, we made it. We are currently in Oriental NC and we are also in the middle of what was Tropical Storm Nichole. We apparently got here just in time, we are now here for the duration as I think we are flooded in. We will see the boat tomorrow at 9 and hopefully the water will be down enough for us to head towards Fort Lauderdale afterwards. I think I just saw our future boat float by on Main Street. We will let you know how tomorrow turns out. I'm hoping the the boat here in Oriental is the one because I'm not looking forward to the drive to Florida. Don, our broker, is telling us that the boat in Florida is probably the right boat for us. So, I'm sure we are going to Fort Lauderdale. We have an appointment to see the Lauderdale boat at 3PM on Saturday.

The TV just announced we have received 18 inches of rain in this storm and it is still raining hard. Reminds me of when I was in Houston during Allison. That storm dumped 25 inches in 24 hours, plus the wind drove the tide way up above normal.

On a better note, we enjoyed sea food and Tuengling beer for dinner tonight at the Toucan Grill here in Oriental. We are going to the Bean in the mooring for coffee and pastries. Talk to any sailor who has been on the east coast and they will know about the Bean. It is an infamous coffee shop in Oriental.

Until the next time...
