chain plates

The question has come up, what are chain plates? Chain plates are the anchor points where the stays that hold up the mast are attatched to the boat. You have followed us as we have worked on ours. The picture shows why we take the chain plates so seriously. The plates on the starboard side were ok, but today, I pulled this one from the port side. God's grace was looking upon Seanna today on this plate. I had considered a sail based on what the starboard side plates looked like. We'll just stay in port until we finish the plates. I hope the picture is a reminder for all of my sailing friends out there.
