Southern California

We had a nice visit to southern California. We followed the recommendations of our former crewmember Peter. We rented a car for a day and visited the La Brea Tar Pits, an In-n-Out burger place, the Getty Museum and did some provisioning. The rest of the time we walked, used Lyft or the free beach shuttle. Linda and I walked to the beach and dipped our toes in the water and took a Lyft back to the boat. We visited the West Marine and Amazon physical bookstore, conveniently located within walking distance of our slip. I shuttled back to the beach for some body surfing. The water was 22C, (72F).

One of the unexpected benefits of mooring in the Burton Chace county park was that they showed an out-door movie. We took our portable camp chairs up to the hillside and watched Solo: A Star Wars Story. A nice ending to our visit.

This morning, we filled water and diesel and got underway for Two Harbors on Catalina Island. We're still in internet range, Maryanne (the autopilot) is driving and Linda is keeping watch while I blog.

Here's a picture of Linda with a friend in the La Brea Tar Pits Museum.
