Winds and seas have built as expected. Weâre currently at about 23knots
wind and 8-10â seas. The ride is fairly comfortable, however, and
everyone seems to be fairly relaxed. Our course is a bit more west than
weâd like but weâre expecting the wind and waves to slowly shift over
the next day so we can point more south and still keep the ride
comfortable. Average boat speed is 5.9knots!
I woke up after a rolly night and saw blue sky and sun through the
forward hatch! Itâs been cloudy the last few days which has made us all
a bit chilly. The change in weather is welcome because Iâm pretty sure
weâre all wearing all of the few warm layers we brought â" this is
supposed to be a sail to the South Pacific, right, no long pants
requiredâ¦.? Also, solar production has already put 5% back into our
batteries!
Iâve heard murmurs of lunch plans and growling tummies from our crew who
have been surviving on pretzels and bananas. Hopefully this is the end
of it for them and we can start enjoying all of the hearty menus and
provisions that Linda sent us off with.
