Marigot Bay
We soon realised that we had been negligent and should have reported the theft before leaving Soufriere, so we hailed a taxi and headed back. Although the distance by boat was very short, the mountainous terrain means that the journey by road is long and difficult. The outing proved to be an interesting cultural experience, as we negotiated price with Moses the taxi driver, explained the loss to the staff at Soufriere police station (similarities I imagine to Meekatharra , in WA) and later compiled a formal report with the aid of WPC 214 Henry, a young business like female detective.
