Like driving across Kansas...

I have rather decided that ocean crossings are akin to driving across Kansas. With a few exceptions during the summer, there are just miles and miles of miles and miles. I have driven across the width of Kansas 8 times. Of those 8 we encountered a tornado once, and that was at an eerily close distance. The crossing from Banderas Bay, once we left the bay, was extremely boring and uneventful. Leaving the bay we had a Whale escort, which was very cool. The only other boat in anything resembling a vicinity was 'Go For Broke', and they are high-tailing it to San Diego.
The weather is getting colder as we head West and slightly North. The nights are requiring sweaters, and I actually pulled out my wool peacoat for the first time in 6 months...
Marcus did great crossing, albeit in fairly benign conditions. At this point he will continue on, but we have not looked at the weather yet. We will be here for the next few days listening to hip-hop, electronic and a few soft rock selections that come off the beach. The anchorage is much better than the last time, we where one of 3 boats after 11pm. Today it's off to say hi to the marina office, check email, get weather and reprovision. We need to find one more jerry can for diesel, I calculated last night that we won't have enough to get to Turtle Bay unless we can sail, and that is looking unlikely.
I hope everyone has a great Easter, or at least a nice weekend.
Cheers, Darrell
