Anchored at Hospital Point heading to Deltaville, Va tomorrow for a few days until the weather up the Chesapeake Bay improves. Whooo, hooo...getting close!
We are a boating family that has sailed to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Maine and up & down the U.S. coast. [...]
Our two Cairn terriers – Murphy & Trapper - accompany us as great sea dogs!
This is our blog; and here we’ll tell the story of two ex- sailors heading south in our new American Tug for the 2nd time. We plan to explore the water version of “Route 66” by traveling down the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) & “bump out” offshore as the weather permits. We intend to visit the Florida & will venture across the Gulf Stream to visit the Exumas & Abacos in the Bahamas Islands.
We prefer dropping the hook in beautiful spots but occasionally relish a marina (mostly for fuel, laundry & a shore fix). Our adventure will last about 6 months. We'll depart November 1, 2012 from Sarles Boatyard & Marina. We intend to return to Annapolis by May 2013. Our adventure will take more than 6 months.
Follow us on our travels, and we’ll blog lessons learned, share tips for traveling with pets & destinations discovered. We’ll also post pictures of what we find along the way. Wish us fair winds & following seas. Come along & join us!
