4 Years Ago Today

So much has happened in 4 years
Four years ago today, Steve came to my condo in Treasure Island to look at a 27 foot Watkins that I had for sale. He also wanted sailing lessons. When he asked why I was selling my boat, I told him I needed to remodel my kitchen.
Karen Fons insists I should have added " And my two girlfriends from Milwaukee with whom we sailed together for ten years on the shores of Lake Michigan were down to visit the very weekend Steve and I met. Ironically, all four of us worked for the same employer. Little did we know!!! And my two friends help ignite the spark between Steve and I. They left us to mingle and get to know each other by excusing themselves to go souvenior shopping and leaving Steve and I are our own. They are the two best friends any girl could wish for." OK Karen and Laurie, you now have your credit as due.
We planned a barter but I got much more that I bartered for! Not only did I get my new kitchen, but I got him and kept the boat in the process. Within a few months we sold that boat and bought our Tayana 37. We worked on her for 18 months and left two years ago this month from Tampa Bay. My blog 'It's Almost Time' tells about my excitement on the impending departure.
We have sailed to the slow scenic route to Trinidad, back up to the Virgin Islands, and then back down to Grenada. We had planned to head west this month to explore Central America but have decided to spend one more year cruising the Islands of the Eastern Caribbean. Gee, all that in 2 years, I wonder what the next 2 years will bring!
