When we left Florida in the fall of '09 we said that we would be gone for 3 to 5 years. Leaving the Virgin Islands the first part of March, and taking our time returning to the Tampa Bay area, it will be 5 1/2 fabulous years of sailing (with a bit of land time thrown in). We are listing the boat in the near future and Steve has been very busy getting her in tip top shape. All of our teak is looking good and our topsides shine. Stainless has been polished. Minor repairs around the boat completed. The major undertaking of painting the deck will be started before long.
She is a classic old boat and someone else will love her as we have.
Teak, teak everywhere...
I have to wonder if I will miss this lifestyle but the proverbial door does come to mind. We had a great time last summer in our motorhome SLOTH and have plans to buy a trawler within the next year or two to do the great loop. Yes, we will leave behind many dear and wonderful friends but there are so many more out there that we haven't even met yet!
Could include dishes, pots, safety equipment and more.
