Say Goodbye to the BVI
06 May 2010 | The boat
Rodney
We woke up around 6:30 this morning and motored over to Spanish Town. I had to change our crew list to include Victor and Jamie and take off the family. We topped off our fuel tanks, filled the dive tanks and then shopped for the provisions that we will need for the trip. The last stop before we left was the Baths. It was great to have Victor (the geologist) explain why and how these huge boulders got here.
We left the BVI's at 12:00 today the winds are between 15 to 20 knots from the NE. Victor and Jamie are doing a great job crewing the boat. It is nice to sail with experienced people - they take initiative. The boat is handling great. We are averaging between 7 to 9 knots. Bermuda is 823 miles away so at this speed we should be there in about 4.5 days. Tonight we are having my famous curry chicken for dinner.
