Day 12 and it's been Swell've

Another big day on the water for Azure II. We just cracked the 100 mile mark and we are closing on Flores fast. We have 30 knot winds and 20' high waves from behind us. We made183 miles over 24 hours flying the jib alone! The max wind gust that we saw on the instruments was 45.2. So the good news is that we are way ahead of schedule and should make landfall by 4 am tomorrow.
Hal is getting pretty excited about making land fall. He is so excited that he did a little makeover today. Hal will come out of the bathroom every other day smelling like baby wipes. But today we got a special treat. I guess Laurie got him a new lift and volumizing hair product to bring out the best in him. He came out in the cockpit and said do you notice anything different?...we all looked at each other...where have I heard that before...I am volumized he said.
I have not said too much about Jamie on this trip, mainly because we do not see him much. He has been suffering from sea sickness since we left and spends most of his off watch time sleeping. It is amazing how dedicated he is to his watches and boat duties given that he does not feel well. We have been trying to get him to eat, but he just gives it back. The good news is that we will be on land in 12 hours so he can get his legs again. The really good news is that he has lost about 15 lbs - tough diet though.
I have been truly blessed with a great crew for this passage. Everyone showed a lot of heart, worked together well and made the voyage a great experience.
