Regifting in Menorca
29 August 2010 | Mao
We're in Mao, Menorca ( the birth place of mayonaisse) on the north island of the Spanish Balearics. The weather is starting to get funky, with strong, changing winds. We are traveling from one side of the island to the other, depending on the direction of the wind. The next few days we'll explore the south where there are some little calas (bays) with picturesque beaches, and high rocks to jump from (the boys requirement for a preferred anchorage.) We've met other english speaking cruisers with kids, which has made for fun socializing. When we left Alameda, the Shaffers surprised us with a flag with a tree on it (discovered it in my suitcase!) We've had to travel half way around the world before we could find someone to take this off our hands. Our new friend Shirish, on the vessel Juno happens to be a Stanford grad. Thanks for accepting our gift Shirish, Orion and Rigel!
