Day Seven is heaven

We made 103 miles over the last 24 hours and are still narrowly hanging on to first place in Division A. We have just crossed in front of California Girl who is in second place - we waved of course 1000 miles from the California coast. We just launched our spinnaker and secrete weapon called the Teddy Whomper. The sail is amazing and is accelerating Azure well above her polers - for all you sailing techies.
Here is a recap of the days activities via RJ aka official Pac Cup 2014 videotographer.
Hi everyone, RJ here, so day 7 started out pretty much just like the past three days- flopping around with no wind. Then, around mid afternoon, we got the tiniest glimmer of hope in the form of a huge wind line slowly creeping up on us from behind. Unfortunately, our hopes were once again demolished when it turned out to be only about 3 knots of breeze poking us along at less than a knot. Our chart plotter gave us an eta of 3000 days till we arrive in Hawaii. We had been literally sitting in one place for so many days, and it seemed like this would be another one of these slow, painful experiences. I took Dad's shift so I could watch the sunset (which was awesome), then I tried to stay awake for mine and ended up sleeping through half of my own shift. Coffee is the only thing keeping me awake at this point, I'm still not really adjusted to taking shifts yet. Anyways, when I woke up, the wind was blowing 5 knots faster than anyone had seen for days, and slowly but surely it built to a steady breeze, leaving everyone absolutely ecstatic. The hell-hole as we call it seems to be finally behind us, and the conditions have been better than I have seen since day 1. We're in first in our division and actually have a little chance in the overall standings even, which is pretty exciting. Anyways, dad wants his computer back, we'll check in later.
PS RJ has a really cool beard
