Day 1
11 July 2019 | Pacific Ocean
Rodney
It is 4am and I just got off shift. We had a great sail to Catalina and seemed to do pretty well against our fleet. We will get a position report at 8am so we will know where we stand for sure. The wind really picked up last night and is supposed to moderate today so things should get better. It has been a very cold and wet evening. Several waves have broken over the cockpit drenching the crew. We are also noticing all the leaks inside the boat. Everything is drenched. Unfortunately our wind instruments went out last night. Around 2am. We really need the wind instruments in order to determine when we have to make a sail change. We will try to figure out the cause as soon as the sun comes up. Cheers, Capt Rod
