So much for rest and relaxation to recover. Our time in Taoromina was slowly coming to an end when in a freak accident all went pear shaped. We were using the ridged inflatable dinghy to go ashore, at a little speed, not flat out when we hit a wave awkwardly. I shot up in the air and landed heavily on my butt. The outcome of this accident was not conducive to carrying on our summer trip and I again returned to the UK , this time for cementing of two broken vertebrae. Yep I managed to break my back by bouncing on a wave.
Pete carried on working for George until the work dried up then sailed single handed to first Syracuse, then Protopaulo and on to Marina Di Ragusa. He packed up Argonauta and came back to the UK to look after me for a month.
So all in all our summer is one NOT to be repeated, just as you think it is safe to go onto the water!!!!!!
