No excuses...No explanation either. To be honest I don't know myself why I haven't felt the urge to update our blog. So, let me get you up to speed.
Feb - Vigo; rainy, dreary, kinda miserable. Tracy questions whole "sailing thing".
Mar - Vigo; still waiting for parts; still dreary. Tracy in big FUNK.
Apr - Finally the rain stops and the parts come in. Hot water on demand! Tracy thinks this "sailing thing" isn't so bad after all. Start our way down the Iberian coast. Portugal is lovely (Viana do Castelo, Porto, Nazare, Penish, Cascais) but we still haven't made it to the Med after all this time.
May - YEAH! Family starts to arrive. Meet Mom in Paris, then travel to Madrid and finally come back to the boat to meet Steve in Cascais. Day trips to Lisbon, Sintra, sailing, etc. Fabulous time!! Off to Portimao, Cadiz, then Gib. Hello Dad & MJ! And hello again to Spain.
June - Sightseeing on the ROCK then a quick trip to Tanger, Morocco for the day. Fascinating! Then fab sail to Estepona and then another day to Malaga. Good times! Bye rents then hello Chris & Dan in Almunecar. Day at the Alhambra (amazing) and good sailing (sorry Chris!) to Almerimar. Bye to C&D! More great times. Tracy goes into Family Funk, but not so bad since the sun is shining.
July - a couple of more stops on the mainland (Cartegena - loved you; & Alicante). Then a jump off to Formentera and Ibiza. OMG...ah, so THIS is the MED! Never thought I'd see such beautiful water and beaches. Anchoring finally. Wow! This is why people cruise. So peaceful. Swimmy swimmy, splashy splashy - all over Formentera, then cala after cala on Ibiza and Majorca. Occasional stops into ports for water and maybe some laundry. Oh, and catching up to friends we'd met in Les Sables D'Olonne. Had a fun reunion with Luis & Coco then off to more secluded calas.
Aug - Barcelona bound and it's uber fab. Time to lock up the boat and head home via Frankurt. Can't wait to get home but also looking forward to Sept in Sardinia!
Love to you all!
