Freebird is finally floating! This morning was very cold but sunny and calm. We arrived at the dock early to watch as they slowly picked up Freebird and slowly rolled her down to dock by the water. They had a huge crane set up that easily lifted the boat and eased it gently down to the water. The crane held it just in the water while everything was checked out to make sure there were no leaks or problems. No problems at all, Whooo Hoooo!

I jumped onboard and we took the long trip about 50 feet down the dock. Small steps. There is still a lot of work to get ready for the first test sail. It will be moved over to the marina on Friday and the actual test sail and handover is set for next Wednesday.

I met with the dealer onboard the next morning to discuss everything we need done. It was so cold the entire dock and the deck of the boat had a light coating of ice on it. It was tricky stepping on board with everything being so slick. I REALLY don't want to fall in when its this cold.

We are looking forward to some sunshine and warmer (slightly) weather this weekend and next week.
