Serce – restaurant buoy for Captain Nemo’s
Mooring can with line ashore

This deeply indented cove had some mooring cans set up by a local restaurant, called Captain Nemo’s. So we had a secure place to watch as other boats arrived all afternoon. Again swimming was a welcome relief from the constant heat.
On the east shore, there were two extremely high cliffs surrounding a deep canyon which led to the beach. When we went ashore, we discovered some ruined stone buildings there, which were probably more recent than ancient and discovered lots of "evidence" of goats and cattle. In the early evening, the goats started appearing on shore, and suddenly we spotted several of them walking down the steep canyon wall along a very narrow rocky ledge. When these goats came closer to the beach, they looked more like mountain goats than the domestic type. We were amazed to see their agility on the canyon cliffs.
Dinner at Captain Nemo’s was a bit overpriced but a nice cool break from the heat on the boat.
Early the next morning a young man came around to the boats in the harbor selling Turkish linens and figs and jewelryu. He had quite a selection in his small boat for a good price. When Linda selected a clothe and we asked the price, we discovered that he could not speak. But he was great at gestures and since we can't speak Turkish anyway, we communicated just fine!

Gerbekse – anchor with line ashore

Byzantine ruins
This small anchorage had interesting Byzantine ruins close to shore and a young man selling honey from a small tent on onshore. In the afternoon, tour boats from nearby Marmaris arrived with lots of tourist swimming and speed boats towing screaming passengers on banana boats as well as jet skis. Luckily the tour boats all left and the quiet of the anchorage and the Byzantine ruins were ours to enjoy in the evening.
