On Weds , February 10, we buddy boated with Time Bandit from Panama City anchorage out to the Las Perlas Islands of Panama. While en route, Dave fished and yielded great results again. The last 3 times he put out the fishing lure, he has netted some great tuna. This time he caught what we believe to be a nice size yellow fin tuna.
Buddy boating for the next 5 days we enjoyed the Las Perlas anchorages, mostly quiet with no other boats around. The very small villages on a few of the islands were quite poor. We purchased some bananas right off the huge branch and a papaya off of the tree which the villager knocked down with a stick. While the price was only a $1 each, neither of these items of fruit are still ripe after 10 days on the boat!
We enjoyed trading host boats for dinner or snacks each night and it was bitter sweet when we parted ways the morning of Febr 16. Purrrfect set out for our 3 night passage of 330 miles up to Golfito Costa Rica. Time Bandit was set to embark on their world circumnavigation, with the first stop 800 miles to the Galapagos. We aren't sure when our voyages will cross again, but we will definitely stay in touch with our great friends, Stuart and Anne!
