After our arrival on Friday, we quickly mobilized for an inland trip to the huge wildlife national park of Etosha. We rented a car, got our Garmin land based GPS going, made reservations for overnight just outside the park. So we drove....and drove...and drove -- well, actually Dave drove (English left side again) for over 8 hours.
We arrived about 2 hours before the park closed for the evening...and yet we saw tons of wildlife in those first two hours. Wildebeasts, Ibex, elephants, giraffes, lions, kudu, impala and LOTS of zebras.
Sunrise the next morning was lovely and we enjoyed a fantastic full day at the park, driving to various watering holes where the animals frequented. This national park experience was new and exciting for Clyde and Dean and even though Dave and I had enjoyed a full 3 week safari about 10 years, we found that the variety of wildlife we saw in just these short two days was amazing.
