Another summer of sailing and exploring the Apostle Islands. Family members join us on the boat, including Paul’s mother, Lois. We purchase two inflatable kayaks that make it easier to explore the sea caves – both on Sand and Devils Island. We also finally have a hard dingy to bring people ashore, and it comes with a sailing rig, lots of fun. Nokomis now carries a dinghy, two kayaks and a life raft.
Isle Royale was our destination again, along with Dave, but this time we head straight for Rock Harbor and explore the east side of the island. We had fabulous luck and found a wonderful blueberry patch. Such heaven, I have never seen blueberries so thick, and so tasty! Fresh blueberries, blueberry pancakes, blueberry cobbler, blueberry jam, oh my. Chippewa Harbor and Finn Bay were other anchorages for some great exploring and kayaking.
Total days sailed: 25 – 565 NM sailed
