Second stop by land travel - the Blarney Castle. I had mixed feelings about going here - it is such a touristy, kitschy destination. But it was a wonderful, sunny fall day, and because the tourist season is past, there weren't any crowds of people. Yes, we both kissed the stone. First you walk up four flights to the top of the castle, lay on your back extending out over an opening, grab the bars, arch even further down and then kiss a stone that zillions of people have kissed. The hope is the stone is so cold, that germs would not thrive on it. I am waiting to see if I become a more elegant speaker, not much hope of that I am afraid.
