Storm of the century

Actually, it was the worst storm in 26 years. Strong winds, lots of trees down. Phil, the guy who runs the marina, was driving and a tree came down on his car hood, bounced, and came down on the back of the car. Talk about split-second luck. I was out on the bow of Nokomis adding chafe guard to the dock lines when we had the biggest blast of the storm. Between the strong wind and the boat tilting so far to the side, I had to crouch down and hold onto the lifelines. Then I saw huge chunks of white styrofoam go floating by. Turns out the building just outside the marina was losing its outside wall. You can see the damage in the picture above. If you look carefully in the upper right-side you can see someone rappelling down the side, checking out the damage. That is the building with the dance studio, and the ballet class I take was cancelled for the night! Trains could not run for a couple of days and people were without electricity for up to four days. But we had no damage.
