Crossing to France

We had a good wind and weather window, so we had to jump on the opportunity and head off to France. Wow, it has been wonderful sailing in Hibernia, Scotia and Anglia (as a really old map I found in an antique store calls this area), kind of hate to leave it all behind. But new adventures await us.
We had a wonderful 24 hours and then the winds began to lighten. And there are many shipping and fishing boats. The shipping boats are piled so high with containers, they look like mini-mountains working their way across the water. So we have rollers, coming in from the Atlantic, along with light winds and a counter-current of one knot. We have the head sail out to port and the main sail to starboard. They do a rolling thwap, from one end to the other end.And we have mountains coming at us. We are not happy campers. We are resisting turning on the iron jenny, but our will is weakening.
On the plus side, I heard my first weather forecast in French, it sounded so sexy. I thought I was eavesdropping on the woman's conversation with her lover. Viva la France!
