Back in the blog saddle
18 November 2015

This blog was born in 2008 and that's pretty much where it stayed :-) We kept a web site going, however, when we sold Ohana it went with it along with a bunch of writing. Oh well. Last May we found ourselves with Ohana II and one day I was digging around the dusty corners of the internet and discovered this little guy still existed so decided to resuscitate it :-) Welcome.
We've been using Facebook (Ohana Charters) as a bit of a journal aboard Ohana II which works but would like to be a little more organized with this part of our lives and sharing the experience of sailing. We're not the first and won't be the last. The places we've visited and will visit have been well trod.
There is a certain rhythm to travelogues, the characters change but the scene stays the same as the memories pile up. Places like Nantucket, Norman's Cay, Cane Garden Bay, Colon, Atuona, Bora Bora, Suwarrow, Nukuloafa, Opua and others. We get to read of adventures past, make our own and help those following us. I guess that's part of the point of sharing. To inspire those who dream it to do it.
For example I was reading Robert Louis Stevenson while at anchor (speaking of Atuona) in the Marquesas. As he described where the Casco was anchored I looked around and came to the realization that we were anchored in just about the exact same spot he was in 1888. All came alive.
So I hope you enjoy what posts and pics we put up. I'll address a bit of our history in our next installment.
