Once anchored, we turned our attention to getting ready to celebrate Daniel's 12th birthday. We have done little shopping in the islands save for food and boat-related stuff so Daniel's birthday was to be nearly devoid of presents. We managed to get him a T-shirt of St. Vincent and a card with EZ dollars (Eastern Caribbean Islands' currency). He has grown and matured enough to like these presents despite that none were a game or a movie. We also made him a cake - first cake on Kikuyu - and made his favorite dinner of macaroni and cheese. We enjoyed the evening looking at pictures of his years growing up. For the first time we noticed he was happy to see all the pictures and patient and curious about them.
