Grenada: Swimming at Grande Anse Beach, Diving & Snorkeling
11 May 2008 | Jim & Kim (Off Piste), Barbara & Jim (Contrails), Jim (Osiris)
For mother's day we went to Grande Anse beach which is said to be the best beach in Grenada. It is indeed a large and beautiful beach. Maria went there with Jim & Barbara (Contrails) and Jim (Osiris) while Kim & Daniel went to the Aquanauts Dive Center off True Blue Bay for intensive PADI training. Their goal was to obtain diving certification so that they can dive in Bonaire which is supposed to have the best diving in the Caribbean.
After Kim & Daniel got their diving certificates we went on a diving/snorkeling trip to Flamingo Bay and saw some beautiful reefs and marine life. Maria snorkeled, as she is not up to diving yet, while Barbara, Jim, Kim and Daniel dove. We saw a large variety of coral and fish life, filled with schools of parrot and many other brilliantly colored fish. One can actually snorkel off the small Flamingo Bay beach rather than take a boat to Flamingo Bay.
