Sunday morning reflections

Just a quick note-
What a beautiful day! Woke up with the sun and since not too much moisture is in the air, I slapped on some varnish for the companionway ladder. We had stripped (Kelly had stripped) the prior nonskid off which required both heat gun and sander as the tools of war. The prior, while looking good and very aggressive in the non-skid department (where there was nonskid), was what could be termed "epic fail". The builders had decided to border the NS area with a nice smooth varnish which made the leading edge of the steps very slick indeed.
So we (Kelly) stripped them down and I am applying some sealing coats before we lay down some new NS tape. I found some "clear" skateboard decking material that should work great.
Other chores today? Lazarette stuffing seems to be the order of the day, wiring in some 12v for the tillerpilot and Engel will have to be done first though.
Cheers!
