While it is mostly sitting around and doing nothing and working on the perfection of that, living on the boat does have a few opportunities for some actual work.
If you read the earlier entry about the great exhaust elbow adventure when we left for the Baja HaHa, you might have wondered about what the permanent solution was going to be (or not, that's fine too).
The fine craftsmanship of Felipe Madera Aguirre created this masterpiece of stainless engineering. If you haven't had to replace an exhaust mixing elbow, you might not appreciate just how awesome this unit is. I will sleep much better while under power now- Kelly says "me too"- really, she did say that just now.
I also have had the idea of mounting a tillerpilot to our Monitor windvane as another backup autopilot. I'm not really sure if it will get much use, but it is pretty neat, and I like pretty neat stuff.
We also got the last of the deck hardware rebedded in anticipation of laying down the new nonskid.
Speaking of the new nonskid- our friends on Puddle Pirate have arrived, and not without a little bit of drama. I'll let them explain on their blog- you can click on the link to the right. They were so gracious as to bring down the Durabak coating for us as shipping a hazardous material here would have been really a hassle. So the decks are smoothed, the hardware is bedded- next is cleaning and taping, followed by application.
That will leave only the mounting and integration of the radar as a project to be completed before we head to La Paz. Easy-peasy!
Oh yeah, went and did the weekly grocery run today as well- built up the staples and we should be good for a bit.
So yeah, Sunday was just another lazy relaxing day.................
