Day in the life.
We had a great time connecting up with Tom and Jeanne (SV Eagle) at a Mark Mulligan concert Tuesday evening. We also got to meet some new friends, Russ and Janet (SV Rock n Roll) and Allan and Sharon (SV Sea Boa)
It was awfully comfortable sitting about, listening to the music, and just generally having a good time. The concert was a benefit for the local St Vincent DePaul Senior Center and we did what we could to throw some pesos down for that. In Mexico, what the US would consider to be the social contract, the government does not provide the support. This leaves some pretty glaring holes. And while in some ways I agree with that path – it does seem that some social network for the elderly, the disabled, and yes, even the poor, is necessary from the top down.
Ok back to fun- this guy- Mark Mulligan, is the carbon copy of our good friend Dave Calhoun (http://www.tropzone.com), even down to the gray hair and the big smile, I think he even stole some of Dave’s repartee! It was a bit odd to listen to him sing then turn and see it wasn’t Dave up there on stage.
Russ and Janet hail from Rockwall TX, and were neighbors of Kelly’s family there! It really is just a big village we live in- there are connections everywhere.
Enough for now- just another day
