Dan- warm to hot
Life has a way of just doing that. While we putter about and find things that take up our days, it just keeps going forward.
So a little catch up for the blog
La Cruz is awesome. This place has to be at the top of my list for places to chill. Close enough to PV so the gringo things are available and yet far enough away so people speaking English in the tiendas are rare. The food is great and we have found a few favorites (those who know me, know I really like the food part of this).
The street tacos here are cheap and the assortment is good. Restaurant wise we found this place called Masala that was really fine dining and very reasonable. Charlies place is undeniably a great place for pizza and beers. Gecko Rojo serves up some decent grub as well. There are quite a few restaurants and bars here, it is still not just a locals place, the marina really has an impact on the local scene.
The marina itself is a bit spendy, but just fine, not out of line with anything around here. A little surgy- that's a word, just not a scrabble word- because of the swell outside. Cement docks in decent repair. There was the word here that the water wasn't potable- they have rectified that, and if my gut is any indication, they are right- it's all good.
We have had a lot of fun here with our friends from the PNW, Puddle Pirate, Permanently Temporary, Destiny and others not from the PNW like Heavy Metal. It is a bit weird though- they come and go while we really don't know when we will meet up again, sometimes if we ever will.
So we make the best of it when we do see each other!
Let's see, more Banderas Bay stuff-
Sayulita, while technically not in the bay, it's still close enough for a visit and a fun place to sit on the beach to people watch.
Old town Puerto Vallarta, not my favorite place, I really don't like being seen as a walking wallet, but it is cool in its own way- just that one drawback.
We did go do a zipline tour- that was a lot of fun, not just because ripping through the jungle canopy dangling by a string is fun, but because of the guides themselves. Very nice and charming while at the same time professional and proud of their work. If you have a chance, this is a fun thing to do.
We have been getting a little makeup applied to Papillon while we have been working and playing. She has a new covering of varnish and Cetol that really makes her glow.
Just a few boat projects to go before I run out!
