Waiting for weather

13 January 2014 | Sarasota (Otter Key) anchorage
We left TI and our new friends on Monday and headed to an anchorage in Sarasota. We planned on staying one night but now it is Thursday morning with no plan to leave today. Weather was predicted to get a little nasty on Wednesday so we opted to stay put till it passed thru. Although we did have some scattered showers on Tuesday, Wednesday was beautiful. Then we went to bed. The rain and the strong >20 knots began just after 10pm. Since we had been expecting it, we were prepared. Even being prepared doesn't guarantee a good nights sleep. So I got up this Thursday morning to make coffee and enjoy a sunny morning. As said before, everything breaks on a boat, yes, even the coffee pot. I will wait for Ed to wake up before I go rooting around the salon to pull out the spare (tea kettle) so we can have our morning coffee. I bet Ed works on the coffee pot today.

The weather forecast from today thru Sunday looks something like a roller coaster with one good day followed by one bad day and so on. And all the really bad weather happens after midnight. So we may leave tomorrow, then stay put for a day, then move on again. We will see.

While we wait for good travelling weather, we do a few chores and enjoy our time reading about the places we will go. At some point we will have to start exercising as we are getting little of that while at anchor.
