Warmth

Warmth at last... Arrived in St. Augustine today and peeled off layers and put on shorts and a T shirt 70's!!!!!!!. Well so far Fl. has been interesting. Docking in Ferdinanda Beach in 25 Knot cross winds was interesting. Went into town and it was Pajama day where everyone who lives there comes out on Black Friday in there pajamas (no lounge wear). The trip through Fl. so far has been an interesting contrast to SC and Ga. most of the travel has been in a straight line with a few exceptions. needed to watch the tides as our mast height comes close to the height of the bridges at high tide. We have dinged the antenna several times. Christmas with palm trees is weird. We keep running into the same boats that we have met along the way in many different ports. Did not do one of the mega Thanksgiving cruisers parties i.e St. mary's or Brunswick. Ga due to the weather. We did though have a Thanksgiving dinner in Fernandina Beach. Consisted of a bird that had died maybe a year ago and had rigor mortis. spent a night in Jacksonville Beach and left early in the am (sunrise) to time the tides at the bridges and shallow spots.
Arriving in St. Augustine we saw an beautiful ketch today high and dry after running aground at the St. Augustine inlet. A couple of days here to do laundry and decompress. Found a piano bar that will let me use the piano for a hour in the am before they open. Miss not having my piano or keyboard. No room on the boat for the keyboard.... Well off to feed the washer an dryer.
