Entering Little Bahama Bank
Started our day at 7:45 AM. Left Old Bahama Bay heading to Memory Rock to enter Little Bahama Bank. This is shallow water crystal clear, averaging 15 feet in depth. Once through the water became emerald green and gorgeous. We were able to put the sails up and made our way to Great Sale Cay. A deserted uninhabited island with a terrific anchorage. Anchor down at 5:30 PM it was a long day and there was a squall coming. We were tucked in anchor before it hit and that was positive. Then a beautiful rainbow appeared. So we took pictures and prepared for dinner. The plan was to grill some burgers and turn on the generator to cool down with a little A/C. Yeah, not exactly roughing it. So on goes the geny and all will soon be right with our world. Well, guess what. Geny sounded very funny. Then quit. Well not so funny. Of the many things you do not want to have happen this is top of the list. So we started to trouble shoot. All seacocks open, check, oil, check, opened the water intake to clean the strainer, yuck, check. We decided to let it cool down, and have some dinner. Oh, I failed to mention that yesterday when we hooked up to shore power at Old Bahama Bay the A/C did not work. After our trouble shooting we decided to just clean out the strainers and that did the trick. So we were hopeful. Dinner was great. Geny cranked right up and we had A/C. Not bad and it was a great evening. Using the most awesome luminary light from Megan. It was perfect.
Turned it and are planning the trip direct to Green Turtle tomorrow.
