We are starting our first cruising season. We have day sailed for 10 years on Kiwi II but living on the boat and cruising for a few months will be new. We decided we would go on the boat for a week to go through all the systems on the boat and take her sailing to discover what we need to do before we start our cruising season in 2024. We did not leave the dock and we already discovered the steaming light was out so up the mast to fix the light. It was a success! (After a road trip to West Marine). The list grew so there is much to do before we leave in the next few weeks. Here are some images of the week. We give a special thank you to Andy and Lisa Batchlor. They are accomplish in ever aspect of sailing, systems, weather, sail techniques and are sailing instructors. They were invaluable coming on our boat for the entire week to help get us cruising ready. They are amazing! We learned alot about our boat, have a list of fixes and feel confident we have taken the opportunity to prepare well for our first cruising season.
