Sail on Kiwi II

Setting Sail 2024

Warderick Wells, scaling Boo Boo Hill! 😎

We have arrived! Unfortunately, we did not use those big white fabric things the entire trip, the wind was on the nose. Maybe next passage.

It was pretty straightforward getting a mooring ball at Emerald Rock. The winds were pretty brisk so we decided not to try the Warderick crescent. The sand banks are a bit too close if you miss the ball. It took about 5 tries to get the ball at Emerald! Just being honest. After the 4th attempt we changed tactics and succeeded. Relief for us both.

On our way to Warderick from Shroud we towed the dinghy. First time and she did great!

Once settled we caught up with our buddy boat and went to shore to scale Boo Boo Hill. Here is the deal, before you get here you find driftwood or something natural and add your boat name and whatever else to what you plan to leave on the pile. The pile is enormous with layers and layers of memorabilia. We painted a Kiwi II aign, signed it, added the year and put on the pile. The views from the top are breathtaking.

Here are some memorable moments.
