The Holocaust Museum was overwhelming in terms of quantity....we spent 4 hours there. This is different than the one in Israel. It provided an extensive history of Germany's participation in the war (minus battle descriptions). It also honestly described US involvement including our short comings (much like the African American and American Indian museums).
All the museums have been extensive and information is artistically and creatively presented. I wish we had time to see more!
The world War II and Korean War Memorials are exceptional and truly honor our soldiers. Mark and I were very disappointed by the Vietnam Memorial. Now we understand the controversy and outrage when it opened to the public.
I loved that, like Arlington Cemetery, the monuments had Christmas wreaths.
