Anchored at Walsh Harbor
22 June 2011 | Walsh Harbor Marine Park
This morning, at high tide, we said our goodbyes to Paul and Kim on Quan Yin as they headed out to Squirrel Coce and we turned north towards Walsh Cove. Winds were very light but we did manage to fly the spinnaker for a short while before the wind died. Anchoring at Walsh Cove was a little more difficult than we have experienced so far...the water was deep, 70 feet, and we had to take a stern line ashore but the wind was very swirly and made it a little more of a challenge. We took a row around the bay, and searched out, (and found!) some petroglyphs on the high shear walls. No telling how old these things are but someone "expressed themselves" long ago in ancient graffiti! We only plan to be here one night before heading towards Octopus Islands in the morning.
