Journeying On

The summer has barely begun in Rhode Island and the mornings already seem to be cool, almost a scent of autumn air… How is that possible? There is so much to do. Each day seems to begin and end with a sense of having been floating on air, my feet barely touching the ground. “What is it like now, [...]

Passing Diamond Shoals off Cape Hatteras!!!

There was no warning... the day touting varying winds from the SE to SW, the sails trimmed in and let back out over and over to keep us moving as fast as we could, the engine called upon when we weren't moving fast enough. I was making breakfast when Bob went up on deck responding to a sound... next [...]

Offshore once more: SV Calyspo is heading north!

It seems endless, the need to keep pressing, keep moving, from one point to another, the whole world of details needing to be dealt with upon returning after so long offshore, after having completely detached from the world system. Yet, there is a dream state that wants to believe I would not reattach... [...]

Barometer falling, a new storm on the morn-

14 November 2015 | 40 00'S:61 00'E, past 60* time zone...UTC + 5...EST +10

Today was a glorious sailing day...in fact, the last two days I have barely touched the sails. The winds have stayed up,well over 20ts, but we are making good headway. The sun made an appearance today for several hours again.

I have no idea what the night will bring as the winds are not as they have been forecasted. The night is to bring diminished winds that may even come to a calm, but it seems unlikely...though, you never know...the wind can come and go into listlessness in the time it takes for a cloud to pass. If the winds do die...it is going to be a wild rolly night as the seastates are still a 15 foot under swell with seas to 8' or so.

Tomorrow begins a two day storm, that I have been planning for, moving farther north to avoid the center of the storm. The forecasts have been decreasing in the expected winds, but regardless, I am in for another blow from the NNW backing to NW that will shift to W and then to SW...this pattern is now becoming a bit of a rhythm for us that is allowing us to make very good progress. The level of the highs has been well north of 40*S. This storm is followed by, yet another of lesser intensity...so we have a good steady stream of westerly winds, a lot of wind, but sailable winds, for the next six days and beyond.

We made it past 60*E last night, putting us one more time zone ahead. This was a fast zone having made it in less than a week.

We were in a high today, with the barometer at 1017 and temps that were a bit milder, hallelujah. I enjoyed being able to type and just be around inside and outside more comfortably. I did a series of exercises as my body is beginning to complain about the sitting and being down below.

Bob is safe and sound back in Florida after a grueling few weeks. He too is getting back into a rhythm with work and being home.

Keepin On Sailin On a Dream...I am ever desiring more presence in my experience. More peace in my emotions. More capacity to live in positivity. Time... all we have until we begin to experience eternity.
