Journeying On

The summer has barely begun in Rhode Island and the mornings already seem to be cool, almost a scent of autumn air… How is that possible? There is so much to do. Each day seems to begin and end with a sense of having been floating on air, my feet barely touching the ground. “What is it like now, [...]

Passing Diamond Shoals off Cape Hatteras!!!

There was no warning... the day touting varying winds from the SE to SW, the sails trimmed in and let back out over and over to keep us moving as fast as we could, the engine called upon when we weren't moving fast enough. I was making breakfast when Bob went up on deck responding to a sound... next [...]

Offshore once more: SV Calyspo is heading north!

It seems endless, the need to keep pressing, keep moving, from one point to another, the whole world of details needing to be dealt with upon returning after so long offshore, after having completely detached from the world system. Yet, there is a dream state that wants to believe I would not reattach... [...]

Satellite Repairs are not Possible

20 February 2016
Good morning, everyone. Donna confirmed early this morning that the satellite dome was, in fact, damaged during the knockdowns. It just took a few days for the saltwater to corrode the inside components of the dome. Thank you Luis for your efforts and your fabulous equipment. Perhaps we can get the dome repaired when she makes landfall.

INSPIRED INSANITY is located at: 38.62 S, 88.57 W. That is 2895 nautical miles from the Pacific Ocean end of the Panama Canal. It is also 558 miles from Robinson Crusoe Island we talked about the other day. It will be a long sail to Panama and she will encounter lighter winds and hot conditions when she finally crosses the equator once again.

Donna is still sailing N/NE at hull speed today and indicated that she has continued writing and knitting in the time she has now without the computer. She is happy. She has her guitar and ukulele aboard and imagine we'll be treated to a whole host of new songs when she returns.

Confucius said, "Wherever you go, go with all your heart." Donna has undertaken this journey with all her will, resources and devotion. She continues sailing on with all her heart. She has taken my heart along with her aboard INSPIRED INSANITY.

Thanks everybody, for your support and prayers.

Bob
