"Life Should be Lived Interestingly."
The DeLorme tracker continues to transmit INSPIRED INSANITY's position and Donna's text messages. That is good. As of this morning, she was located at: 1.162 N, 81.194 W. This is only about 70 nautical miles off the coast of Equador. The winds are light, but II continues to make progress north at about 2 knots overnight.
Donna's messages, though short, let me know that she is in good spirits and looking forward to approaching the Panama Canal. She was swimming off the boat yesterday in the deep blue Pacific Ocean. I can't help but picture her swimming out in front of the bow towing INSPIRED INSANITY along, just for the exercise and to speed the journey along. II helps Donna along and she helps II along. They are one in the same in many respects on this journey.
Back at the beginning of this trip, Donna would swim off the boat while she was in the warm waters of the Atlantic crossing to Africa. Halsey Herreshoff once asked me if she always tethered herself to the boat when she swam. I asked, but never did get an answer to that question. I suspect I never will.
I read yesterday that "The most Interesting Man in the World" from the Dos Equis Beer commercials officially retired this month. He was described as "A man rich in stories and experiences, much the way the audience hopes to be." He famously believed that "Life should be lived interestingly."
If they are looking for a replacement, I nominate Donna as "The Most Interesting Woman in the World." She has lead us all on a trip rich in stories and experiences. The journey continues. She is certainly "living her life interestingly." Thank you, Jessica and Mike for planting this seed so many months ago. And thank you Donna for allowing us all to tag along.
