Journeying On

The summer has barely begun in Rhode Island and the mornings already seem to be cool, almost a scent of autumn air… How is that possible? There is so much to do. Each day seems to begin and end with a sense of having been floating on air, my feet barely touching the ground. “What is it like now, [...]

Passing Diamond Shoals off Cape Hatteras!!!

There was no warning... the day touting varying winds from the SE to SW, the sails trimmed in and let back out over and over to keep us moving as fast as we could, the engine called upon when we weren't moving fast enough. Offshore once more: SV Calyspo is heading north!

It seems endless, the need to keep pressing, keep moving, from one point to another, the whole world of details needing to be dealt with upon returning after so long offshore, after having completely detached from the world system. Stalled on the Pacific Side of the Canal

04 April 2016
Good morning everyone,

Donna's preparations continue, but she is still on the Pacific side of the canal. There have been many gracious cruisers that have helped Donna get along with things and she is grateful for all of the assistance.

The motor is now attached to a plywood bracket on the back of INSPIRED INSANITY and it is yet to be seen whether this arrangement will be sufficient.

INSPIRED INSANITY's final inspection by the Canal Authority is scheduled for this morning. Please keep your fingers crossed and your prayers coming that the boat will pass muster.

All of the lines and fenders have been set aboard. There are a few people willing to handle lines for the transit, but their will have to be a bunch of people available of the day she gets the nod that it is time to go.

Donna has purchased a new laptop and we were able to talk for 45 minutes last evening by SKYPE. Donna is busy with all of the details and a bit overwhelmed. It is a bit frustrating to talk on SKYPE and to be so helpless from this end of the conversation, but Donna is determined to make this happen.

I am sorry to anyone who could not donate to Donna due to the website. I think this has been resolved. Just as easy now is Donna's GoFundMe site which can be accessed at GoFundMe.com or through Donna's Facebook page. Thank you, Light, for making this happen. Much appreciated.

With Donna's new computer and SKYPE, Donna is reconnecting with her family, friends and supporters. I expect her to be able to update the Sailblog herself soon. The issue now is having a good internet connection. We spoke yesterday while Donna was connected at the mall where she purchased the computer. There is less internet available where INSPIRED SANITY is anchored.

There are more repairs to be made to INSPIRED SANITY as she awaits her assignment to transit. Perseverance and patience are the keys now.

Hang in there, Miss Donna. Your perseverance will be rewarded.

Thanks everyone,

Bob
