Journeying On

The summer has barely begun in Rhode Island and the mornings already seem to be cool, almost a scent of autumn air… How is that possible? There is so much to do. Each day seems to begin and end with a sense of having been floating on air, my feet barely touching the ground. “What is it like now, [...]

Passing Diamond Shoals off Cape Hatteras!!!

There was no warning... the day touting varying winds from the SE to SW, the sails trimmed in and let back out over and over to keep us moving as fast as we could, the engine called upon when we weren't moving fast enough. Offshore once more: SV Calyspo is heading north!

It seems endless, the need to keep pressing, keep moving, from one point to another, the whole world of details needing to be dealt with upon returning after so long offshore, after having completely detached from the world system. Panama Canal Final Attempt!

15 April 2016
Good morning everyone.

I just spoke with Donna and she is ready for her transit of the Panama Canal. She is awaiting the line handlers and the Canal Authority representative this morning and will get underway upon their arrival.

Since last Friday's attempt, INSPIRED SANITY has been at anchor off the Balboa Yacht Club where she has had access to the internet, showers and a 24-hour launch service. All of these amenities have made life aboard a bit easier. Everyone Donna met there, both locals and sailors have been a tremendous help and support during this time. Thank you all that crossed paths with INSPIRED SANITY.

The self-steering vane and satellite systems are off being repaired and hopefully be back in Panama timely so Donna can depart for her final sail home to Bristol, RI.

The Panama Canal cameras can be found at www.pancanal.com under the "Multimedia" chapter on the toolbar. Take a look today if you get a chance.

"Sometimes it's not about the journey or the destination... but about the people you meet along the way." - Nishan Panwar

Thanks again to all those who continue to help Donna and INSPIRED SANITY in Panama and to all who are following along the way. It makes Donna smile and makes me smile to know you are all there.

Enjoy your day.

Bob
