Hello Friends, Team Sail Twice Around would like to announce that Captain Donna Lange is nearing the completion of her solo circumnavigation around the world, begun July 31, 2015. Attached is a copy of the news release that will go to press on May 22nd; for her presently anticipated arrival over Memorial Day weekend.
Donna intends to arrive at the Herreshoff Museum Dock for May 30th, Monday afternoon for those who are local, or would like to be there when she arrives from sea, (though these things are so difficult to �'arrange�' given weather etc�... she will tarry until the said time as needed) to the dock in Bristol. Donna realizes that the unintended arrival during a principal national holiday will present difficulties for some people to be there. Subsequently, the Welcome Home reception is going to be held the following day, Tuesday, May 31, from 5:30- 6:30pm at the Herreshoff Museum Hall of Boats, hosted by the Herreshoff Museum, hors d�'eurves and refreshments provided. A Follow up gathering will be at local restaurant TBA. This reception will give Donna the opportunity to thank her sponsors as well as all the incredible individuals who have supported each aspect of this challenging venture, making it possible for her to safely alter her course at Cape Horn for the Panama Canal, make necessary repairs and to continue on toward her home port in Bristol, completing the solo circumnavigation with only the stop to transit the Canal. You may be receiving this notice as a member of a sailing or other maritime organization related to Donna�'s solo circumnavigation, organizations associated with Donna from her previous solo circumnavigation, or other groups that respect the type of venture that �'two time�' circumnavigator Donna Lange has accomplished.
Team Sail Twice Around would like to ensure that anyone who wishes to honor Donna�'s accomplishment or speak at the reception will have that opportunity to do so.
