Spotless Stainless

21 September 2011 | Mystic River
Spencer
We are anchored north of the Seaport in the Mystic River. We got caught by the railroad bridge on our way in and had to wait an hour for the next highway bridge opening to get through, so We anchored on the side of the channel and Kathleen went up the river in the dinghy to scout out the anchorage. It's a small anchorage and it would be painful to get there late in the evening only to find no room. I used the time to take a shower and then got the ok from Kathleen to proceed through the two bridges and meet her in the anchorage.

We pushed our way through the mud and set a couple of anchors to keep from swinging into the channel. We didn't swing much and had a very peaceful evening.

On Tuesday we had a visit from Alex. He is a submariner and going through an advanced school in nearby Groton - then it's back to Hawaii, where he lives aboard his CT 38! He has been learning a lot from the Sail Vicarious DVD series and was able to pick our brains during a visit aboard and enjoy some of our cooking.

Today was a busy day for me as I cleaned all of our stainless steel with our new batch of Spotless Stainless. Vicarious has a lot of stainless and it was overdue for some love. The results are impressive and Vicarious is shining again! I can highly recommend this product and recommend a quart, as once you get going and see how well it works, you don't want to stop until you've cleaned every stanchion, cleat, turnbuckle, etc!

We have another visitor coming on Thursday and then we will continue south with a very early departure on Friday morning to catch some of the current in the Long Island Sound on our way to Port Jefferson. The current turns against us at 0830!
